Chapter 7- Reflection

Meg sat brooding in her corner. The twins stared helplessly. They had never seen Meg so flustered and ill-tempered. "I'm scared Alexa. She's losing control. Her powers have become erratic. She can't think straight. Maybe..." trailed Tessa.

      "Maybe what?"

      "We should leave the Negaverse."

"What! Have you lost your freakin' mind? We can't abandon the Negaverse. I mean, everything we've worked so hard for is within our grasp. And you want us to quit?" Alexa was re-convincing the both of them of the purpose of staying.

"Stop toying yourself! You don't even understand what we are trying to do any more than I do! All I know is that Meg wants to go back in time. But I just can't understand why. She won't tell us why, but I will find out. And don't think her talk will convince me. I can find out the truth. I mean the only thing about our childhood that I can still remember is so much screaming," Tessa covered her ears as she heard the screaming echoing in her ears.

"Tessa. Meg wants us to stay. She saved our lives. She made sure this family stayed together. We can't abandon her cause." The twins comforted each other. All three were confused, lost children.

All the senshi had reflecting to do. Everything about their once simple lives was spiraling into something more complicated than in any soap opera. Serena and Darien were the most complicated. They had a love that transcended a thousand years apart from each other. They always found a way together and their love was the kind that would change the world.

Darien sat in his apartment. He played his Disc Changer. He remembered his friend, June Evans. She was his old friend from the old orphanage. He visited her every summer and he wrote to her consistently. He never mentioned her to Serena. It was through her that he met the X-Men because she was a student at the School for Gifted Youngsters.

She was the only other person he had trusted other than Andrew. When he began dating Serena, she listened to the stresses of their situation. And now that she was dead, he felt mournful because she was a dear friend to him and Serena.

Serena had been jealous when she learned about June and saw she was very pretty and was older. After a little talk with June, Serena could finally see that she nothing more than a big sister-like figure that he never had. Most of all, she sacrificed her life to help save the senshi, Greg, and the X-Men from the Chaos Galaxy.

June liked classical music and Darien played an opera CD just to think of her. "Nessun Dorma" drifted from the speakers. "How appropriate," thought Darien. There would be no sleep that night, for him or for anyone else. "What can all this mean?" he asked himself aloud.

His reverie broke as he picked up the ringing phone. "Hello?"

"Hi muffin," said a sweet voice.

"Hi, Serena." He perked up a little.

"I hear that Italian song. You can't sleep either?" Serena asked. She knew him well.

I'm just thinking about everything that has happened. More things have taken place in the last two years, than in my entire life. I just wish..." he stopped.

"You wish June is still alive?" Serena said sadly.

"You know I love you deeply and truly..." Darien was worried that she was still jealous of June.

"I know. I understand how you feel. She had all the answers you needed. She gave me a some good advice before she... left us," Serena said reassuringly.

He knew her sincerity. "She'd have all the answers."

"Well, I guess you need to just think about what she'd say."

      "Huh??"

"Well when I was a kid, my mom told me how to make the right decisions. She said 'If you ever doubt anything, think of me. What would I do? Ask yourself that, and you will know the answer.' So think of her." Serena spoke softly because it was late at night.

Darien smiled at the unusually wise advice. "You're right." They talked for another ten minutes. They both slept easier that night.

Raye and Chad sat together on the temple step. There were a few little stars twinkling in the twilight sky. She wore her pink overalls and a white sweater. She had her hair tied in two braids. "It's nice out here, huh Chad?" she asked quietly.

"Like yeah. The stars are so awesome. Kinda reminds me...  Here..." he pulled out some papers from his pockets.

Raye looked at them. "It's a song!" she said in surprise.

"It's something I wrote after our first date. Try it," he said.

Raye smiled at him. "Alright." She looked over the entire song a couple of times. When she felt sure about the melody, she did her warm-up scales. Chad gazed admiringly at as she sang each note. They were the perfect pitch. He began to wonder if there was anything that she simply couldn't do. He picked up his guitar. The song's melody filled the nighttime air.

"One... two... three..." he counted the intro measures in the song.

"I give up my time to think of you...I hold my hand out to you..." she sang the entire song and she began to think of her friends and what they meant to each. "It's really good, thanks." She kissed him on the cheek.

He blushed at the warm touch of her lips. "No big deal. I did it for you." They were soon gazing into each other's eyes. They leaned closer and their lips met. They embraced each other for a minute.

As they parted, Raye said, "Why didn't we do that before?" Chad smiled and they kissed again.

Lita was sitting in her living room. She had a notebook open. It was her diary where she scribbled her thoughts. It was her 3rd volume, from something she started when she was 8. It was filled with her hopes and dreams. On her birthday, she would write a reflection over what happened since the birthday before. But she had another reflection for tonight.

"It's amazing. We've found knights! First Darien, then Greg, and now Chad. I just wonder, who is next? It's just me and Mina left. Actually Venus Knight made an appearance, but we have no clue who he is! Oh Jupiter knight... wherever you are... come quickly! I figure whoever Jupiter knight is, will be my boyfriend just like the others. I'm just dying to find him. If he's anything like the other knights, then Wow! He'll be a dreamboat!" Lita sighed at the thought with hearts in her eyes. Just then the phone rang. She stretched her arm and reached over to the phone. "Hello?"

"Hey Lita!" said a gentle male voice.

"Ken! I can't believe it's you!" she said eagerly. It had been weeks since they saw each other.

"It's great to hear you Leets. I was hoping to catch you before you went to bed," he said.

      "What about?" she replied politely.

"Well I wanted to see you next Saturday."

      "Next Saturday? How come?"

"I have something important to tell you."

"Why can't you tell me now?" she asked with curiosity.

"I figure it'll be nice weather next weekend and we could hang out together. Just like the good old days. Unless you have other plans..."

"I'm available!" They weren't far from each other, but he went to an elite academy on a basketball scholarship. They both have busy schedules and rarely found the time to get together.

"I'll meet you at the old playground at our old school. Twelve sharp." She agreed. The playground was at their old elementary school, where they first met as kindergarteners. They hung up soon afterwards. Lita closed the book quietly. She thought about the wonderful time she would have with Ken next Saturday. She sighed as she thought how tall he is. They were the same height now. His sandy, brown hair was fun to touch when she gave him noogies. Last time she tripped and fell on top of him. She could feel his developing muscles, and the solidness of his chest.

She blushed furiously when she thought of her long-time best friend that way. She could only dream about their meeting next weekend. She sighed as she turned off her dresser lamp. Lita crept into bed and closed her eyes.

Greg and Amy were at the Cyber World Coffee House. They were online with Dr. Henry McCoy, a.k.a. Beast. Beast was reporting on what was happening with the X-Men. "I'm happy to hear from you again, Miss Mizuno."

"Hello Doctor. How are you all?" she typed.

"Well Jean and Scott are trying to have a baby, but no success so far. Jubilee's powers are stronger. All in all, we're good," Beast responded.

"A lot has happened here." Amy summarized the events that had already happened.

"My, my! Youth these days have complicated lives. No doubt that the other senshi have knights."

"It's a logical conclusion, but we have no clue that they even existed. It's just so confusing," typed Amy.

"I know the feeling. All I can say is, that you can only take it in slowly. Don't force yourself to change."

"That's good advice." Greg had been observing the conversation.

"I'm happy to hear that you are a couple. Also that Serena and Darien are better connected to each other. I will promptly inform the professor. Give my regards to the cats and the other senshi." They all logged off.

Mina's head was spinning as she laid on her bed. The walls were covered with teenybopper posters and pictures of famous models. She had 2 guys in her life. As Mina, there's the sweet, intelligent and playful Donny. Then as Sailor Venus, she had the mysterious Venus Knight who was destined to be her true love.

Soon a thought struck her. Could Donny be Venus knight? It was a clear possibility. There was a pattern that the knights were guys that are close to the senshi. He had to be! He fit that pattern perfectly! She sat upright. But how could she prove it?

The phone rang and interrupted her thoughts. Her manager was on the phone. "Mina! Honey!"

      "Yeah Mazer?" she asked.

"Sorry to call you so late, but I'm going on a flight to Paris in an hour. I wanted to tell you that the new Sailor V gig has a... get this... a Venus Knight!"

      "What????" she shrieked.

"I know. A Venus Knight cameo is in the game. It's an introduction for a possible movie deal!" he said.

"So, um... what does that mean?" Mina asked shakily. She was trembling with excitement.

"If there's a movie in the works... you could be up for a movie role!"

"You're a doll!" They finished their conversation and hung up 5 minutes later.

Mina stared at her ceiling. This time she began thinking about her acting career and the photo shoot tomorrow. She continued thinking, not of the past, but of the possibilities in her future.

Insomno spoke a strange charm to his lantern. As he opened the lantern, a handsome blond man appeared. "Yes, my lord," he spoke softly.

"Prince Paris. The Negaverse shall give you what you want the most. In exchange, you will destroy the Sailor Senshi."

In spite of his handsome, kind appearance, his eyes glowed with greed as he thought of his one true desire: his beautiful princess. "I will agree."
